| Introduction | I am passionate about my job and the work that I am so lucky to do at the Shelburne Museum. I oversee and care for our garden collection, along with 2-3 other part-time seasonal gardening assistants, and a number of dedicated garden volunteers. I also oversee and direct a number of volunteer groups throughout the year, who support their communities by donating their time and labor in the gardens or on the Grounds at the museum. I design all of the gardens that change from year to year, some of these gardens are inspired by exhibits for that season, I bring the inspration from the art displayed in an exhibit out and transform it into a garden. We use natural and organic means of pest control and fertilizer, I am always looking for a new product that will help us keep up with these demands. I also assist my fellow co-workers on the Grounds Dept. with routine care of the museum grounds, as well as snow removal in the winter. I enjoy the interaction and inspiration I get from the staff that I work with to the visitors that that come to see all that we offer. |
