| Introduction | Once I was officially recognized as a promising mathematician. They taught me accordingly, but I became a computer engineer. After 12 years in hardware software co-design, I started writing for computer press. For 3 years I served as the editor-in-chief of a major computer weekly magazine. In 1999 I took a job in the US, where I suffered a personal catastrophe: two of my American children went to schools and learned to hate math. I am working with my last child to prevent another disaster. |
