| Introduction | I usually say that my life has been determined by four significant loves: My love for my family: first, of course to my parents, and later to my wife and four children. My love for scouting: found early and never wavering, I am proud to be a scout! My love for physics: well, the natural and mathematical sciences in general, actually, but first and foremost physics. Any medium or greater advance in physics is brought by by a creativity and out-of-the-box thinking that is incomparably greater than anything ever found in art. My love for Tolkien: the last of my formative loves to be found, but as strong as any of the others. I am always enchanted by his words.
