Introduction If "marching to a different drummer" could be a name, it'd be mine. Even as a child I remember being challenged for my thoughts with reprimands made to invalidate "such nonsense". Among teenage friends I became a storyteller. Lunches were spent spinning tales of love and intrigue; how excellent, even for a moment, to be in a world where no-one lied and endings were happy! I grew up becoming consciously aware that my thoughts, feelings and words were of a different cloth than those of my peers. During the demise of my second marriage I began to write; needing to speak my feelings but unable, I discovered catharsis in writing. Initially raw, then painstakingly crafted into something perfect, I make what is sometimes ugly into art: beautiful in form, though often no less harsh. And as long as my thoughts and words can inspire, alarm or enlighten, bringing feelings to life, I'll be marching to that drummer.
