IntroductionI'm just your friendly neighborhood Renaissance girl. My favorite combination of numbers is 525 (my birthdate, which is a palindrome like my first name, woohoo!) and 415 (the birthdate of the ultimate Renaissance man, Leonardo da Vinci!)
InterestsReadin', ritin', rithmatic...just kiddin'. ;) But seriously, I enjoy literature (reading and writing it), learning more about science (which I guess includes math, yikes) and anything to do with the fine arts.
Favorite moviesSooo many...but here are a few: Gone With The Wind (I don't romance about any pre-Civil War Southern life; however, I DO like the independent spirit of Scarlett O'Hara and the beautiful costumes and music!) Honorable mentions: Apollo 13, Titanic, Saving Private Ryan, The Dirty Dozen, Jaws, The Goonies, Rush, Cinderella, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, The Odd Couple, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, The Princess Bride, Barefoot in the Park, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, It's a Wonderful Life, The Taming Of The Shrew, and Breakfast At Tiffany's. *There are quite a few more, but the above group should give you a general idea of what I go for.
Favorite musicEl Ten Eleven's My Only Swerving - this song just puts me in such a dreamy happy zone. Plus, it clocks in at exactly 5:14 minutes...Leonardo da Vinci's birthday in reverse! Oh, and if you go and check out their album cover, there's a picture of a jet taking off! As if I needed any more reasons to love this song! :) Honorable mentions: Led Zeppelin's When The Levee Breaks, Neil Young's Ohio, Bassnectar's Butterfly, M83's Couleurs, Copperhead Road by Steve Earle and Heartbeats by The Knife. *Same footnote as above.
Favorite booksI don't know that all of these are my "favorite," but they are notable and/or well-written, so therefore worthy of being on my list. And I have plenty more to add, so stay tuned... The Bible, A Tale of Two Cities (Charles Dickens), Pride & Prejudice (Jane Austen), Jane Eyre (Emily Brontë), The Iliad and The Odyssey (Homer), The Aeneid (Virgil), Beowulf, The Divine Comedy (Dante Alighieri), The Canterbury Tales, The Theban Plays (Sophocles), The Known World (Edward P. Jones), The Feast of the Goat (Mario Vargas Llosa), The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald), Peter and the Starcatcher (Dave Berry), Anna Karenina (Leo Tolstoy), Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte), Don Quixote (Miguel de Cervantes), Crime & Punishment (Fyodor Dostoyevsky), Good Girls (Karen Young), Ender's Game (Orson Scott Card), The Hunger Games series (Suzanne Collins), Game of Thrones (George R. R. Martin), The Hobbit (Tolkien), Lord of the Flies (Golding), A Confederacy of Dunces (John Kennedy Toole), and To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee), as well as many academic and scholarly publications.

For your birthday, your aunt gave you a maple syrup dispenser shaped like a rooster. Please write her a thank-you note:

What did "Rosebud" refer to in Citizen Kane?
