| Introduction | When I lost my job in October, I knew jobs were scarce and it might take awhile before I found a new job. Viewing the glass half full, I made plans to use this time wisely. I thought I would learn Spanish, lose weight, and fill my kids' days with fun activities. Well, here we are in January and I am 0 for 3. I realized I really have no desire to learn Spanish and unlike Kate Moss, I believe there are some things that taste better than being thin. As for my kids’ days, they are filled with watching PBS; they are just a lot smarter than me when it comes to teaching children, so it is best leave it to them. So my days are filled with Howard Stern, Spider Solitaire, and reading. Since being forced into stay-at-home-momitude, I really do not have the opportunity to have adult conversations. This blog is my way of pretending I have contacts with the outside world as I share my opinions on the books I read. So if you are wondering if a book is worth reading, maybe I can help. I read mostly non-fiction. I am addicted to books about drug addicts as well as history, politics, true crime, and biographies. If these are up your alley, follow my blog. If not, you can leave now. |
