| Introduction | I am the mother of two beautiful and wonderful adult children who inspired me to reach for my dreams and become a writer. My favorite quote is “Sing like no one's listening, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody's watching, and live like its heaven on earth.” - Mark Twain. I believe that to fully appreciate life, one simply must strive to be true to one’s heart. I started my college career at Cameron University as a full-time non-traditional student 30 years after high school graduation. In my first semester, I received the Freshman Outstanding English Composition Student Award and with the encouragement of Dr. Vivian Thomlinson, an English professor at CU, I decided to pursue a career in writing. Currently I am the Crossroads editor and a staff writer at The Cameron Collegian, the official weekly student newspaper of CU. I also work as a convergence team lead for AggieCentral, the convergent news media site for the students, faculty and staff of CU. In the future, I plan to write a memoir expressing my views on the most common denominators of humanity as seen through my personal life experiences. |
