| Introduction | I am the mother of three adult children with 11 grandchildren and many step-grandchildren. I've spent many years dreaming of being involved with labor and birth and this year decided it was time to start! I've taken two doula workshops in the last year and am working on certification as a labor doula for both and a labor and postpartum doula for the other. For the longest time I thought that I was supposed to be a midwife when all is said and done, but I am really having second thoughts about that path. I think that the time I actually spend with clients prenatally,m in labor and after birth is the feeling and fulfillment that I am looking for, not the actual "baby-catching" part! I really do feel wonderful after a birth where "we" have all worked together to help bring a new life into the world..... So, I've been doula at 10 births so far and am loving it! I'll add thoughts as I go 'cause this "Blogging" thing is new to me! |
