| Introduction | My work is about things that are hidden, beneath the surface or transformed in some way. I look less to see what is there in actuality than what might be. My background in photography and textiles comes together to help me express these ideas in machine stitched fiber prints. I like the idea of combining the technology of digital photography and computer-altered imagery with older techniques used in the textile arts, to move from the hardness of computer keys to the softness of fabric. When I start on a new image, I never know what to expect. Most important to me is the element of surprise. |
