Introduction Pinecrest Lake is located approximately 20km south of Whistler Village and is surrounded by the communities of Black Tusk Village and Pinecrest Estates. The lake is used by the residents of the communities for recreation, including swimming and non-motorized boating in the summer and skating in the winter. In response to the sediment deposition and other water quality concerns, local residents formed the Black Tusk Village Lake Committee (BTVLC) and the Pinecrest Lake Committee (PLC) as early as 2006, to compile ideas and work with other organizations to improve watershed health. In 2012 these committees were merged to form the Joint Lake Committee (JLC). This blog is part of the community education initiative, and will serve to document our journey as we create a long term lake management plan. We welcome all and any submissions from community residents/ owners.
