| Introduction | I'm 27 years old. I am a nurse practitioner though I currently practice as an RN in a pediatric ICU two days a week and as a Diabetes Educator for a pediatric clinic two days a week. I am married to Adam who is 28. He is also an RN in a Trauma and Burn ICU. We have been married three years. I am also a type 1 diabetic and wear an insulin pump. We own our house and have lived in Pelham for two years. We have a cat named Onyx. When we were married for a little less than a year both of our fathers past away within two weeks of one another; that is something we both struggle with. I started this blog so that I could share with the world the daily struggles of living with diabetes, especially when you are getting ready to try to start a family, but don't get me wrong... my diabetes is a very important part of who I am, and I don't know where I would be without it. I feel that there are tools to make life with diabetes pretty darn normal, and we should use what we have. |
