Introduction I came from Edmiston street Parkhead in the East End of Glasgow. Went to Elba lane nursery then Newlands primary then Riverside secondary. Then moved to Easterhouse and went to Westwood secondary. Left school at 15 and served my time as a boilermaker in "Thompsons" at Lilybank London road. Then worked as a draughtsman. Met my wife in Easterhouse when we were 17 her maiden name was Ellen Collins and she came from Crail street in Parkhead. We got married in 1971 then lived in Dennistoun till we emigrated to Toronto Canada in 1973. Came back to Scotland in 1975 and have lived in Blantyre ever since. We have 3 grown up children (2 boys, 1 girl). I worked in Clydebank College for 25 years teaching engineering subjects and my wife taught in special needs schools. We have both taken early retirement and are loving every minute of it. My eldest son now lives in N.Z. and has made us proud Grandparents to a lovely little girl and a set of twins (boy & girl).
