Occupation Technical Team Leader in Computing, Control, and Electrical Engineering
Introduction Zofia graduated from a General Engineering course from the University of Liverpool with a First Class MEng degree in 2014. She then went on to do a PhD in the Low Dimensional Structures & Devices research group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Sheffield. Zofia's research focused on integrated GaAs-based nano-photonic devices for quantum computing applications. Zofia joined the Department of Multidisciplinary Engineering Education at the University of Sheffield in 2018 as a Senior Engineering Teaching Technician. Her main responsibilities were managing the Electronics & Control laboratory and providing support for the practical activities taking place there. Due to Zofia's semiconductor experience, she also developed and led practicals in the Cleanroom. Zofia is currently seconded to the Technical Team Leader role, managing a team of 5 technicians supporting Computing, Control, and Electronic Engineering activities. Zofia began her pedagogy research at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic as her team developed novel distance learning experiences for their students.
