| Introduction | I work for AHEAD - Association for Higher Education Access and Disability - and run a project called GET AHEAD - the National Forum of Graduates with Disabilities. I am running for this year's NUI Senate election as an independent candidate and am standing on issues including disability rights and rights for marginalised groups. I am running because I believe that in order to get change in our society and to get our rights, which are basic and fundamental to our lives it is vital to have a voice, a poltiical voice to get things done. I also believe that to make changes you must be an intricate and integral part of the issues for which you are standing. I am the first ever blind graduate to stand in Ireland and so would appreciate your vote. |
