| Introduction | My focus is on 2D and 3D Digital environments, including matte painting backgrounds, digital modeling, texturing and animation. I have a very strong background in Fine Arts predominantly covering the disciplines of painting, printmaking and sculpture. The themes explored in my work include fantasy, dreams, medieval bestiaries, mythology, superstition, the removal from reality, abandonment and humanity’s response to the wild animal. In my work I strive to capture realistic details and adhere to naturalism and a sense of movement and energy. I avoid working in a manner that appears ‘posed’, instead choosing to portray my work in a moment of action. I enjoy working with a very muted color palette, with a lot of atmospheric quality, and dramatic lighting. I want to bring things alive; environments, creatures or characters, to show they have life and personality and a story. |
