You can whistle and steam can whistle, so why do you sing in the shower?
Personally, I don't. However, most people sing in the shower for purely acoustic reasons. The shape and structure of a shower, along with the water, make a shower akin to a studio with a vocal effects processor. Simply put, we sound better to ourselves in the shower than we do outside of the shower.
