IntroductionI am on an incredible journey right now. I just graduated from Syracuse University in May 2009 with a degree in music and religion. Less than two months later I packed my life into two suitcases, and now here I am, studying at the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem for a year. It feels great. I feel like I am really preparing myself for what I want to do with the rest of my life: become a rabbi and get a job at a college or university where I can build both strong Jewish communities and strong interfaith communities at the same time. My life is essentially consumed by those two passions, and living here in Jerusalem has filled my life with Jewish learning, made me part of a wonderful community, and flooded my mind with thoughts and ideas about the complexities of living in a multi-faith world and possible ways to create a world of constructive coexistence, mutual understanding, and respect. Don't worry though, I'm not all work and no play! I'm also enjoying cooking, hosting Shabbat meals, going to various festivals, walking down Ben Yehuda Street, bargaining at the shuk, or just wandering the streets of Jerusalem. There is so much to do here, and I am just trying to take it all in!
