Introduction	From Norfolk to Tortola and now to Woodstock, Virginia, teaching has brought me far from my birth place in Fort Worth, Texas. Even as a four year old, words fascinated me, although I couldn't read them then. Currently I string words into lines of poetry whenever the opportunity occurs. Words also rule in my classroom, and nothing excites me more than to see young people eager to string their own lines of prose or poetry, or to read the work of more famous writers. In February 2008, the Helen Moore Educational Trust awarded a grant that has transformed my classroom into a computer writing and reading lab. This new school year, I know that my students will be a great asset as we discover more and richer ways to use computers in the pursuit of mastering the language arts.
