| Introduction | Born in the quaint German town of Lemgo and raised by my outdoorsy parents, I have always had the travel bug in my genes... After finishing my apprenticeship as a craftsman in handbag making in Offenbach I worked for several leather goods companies, first in Bavaria and then in Paris. In 1995 I moved to South Africa where I got a position in the product development of exotic leather handbags. In 2006 I landed a job in New York, but the exciting buzz lasted merely for a year since the company was closed down and everybody got retrenched... Luckily I was able to take up work with my former employer in Cape Town and pick up the pieces again of my great life in South Africa. I love exploring new places, so this dream of traveling Africa has always been at the back of my mind from the day I first stepped onto 'The dark continent'. I am totally thrilled that I will finally be living my dream! |
