| Introduction | Studies show that contolling the size of managed cat colonies through Trap/Neuter/Return programs, is cheaper and more effective than trap and kill programs currently prevalent. Through outreach, education, and community building, Capitol Cats plans to help serve as a resource for a Trap/Neuter/Return program for domestic cats--beginning in Downtown Historic New Bern, where, each year an average of fifty cats are trapped and killled. It is our intention to support the efforts of citizens to humaely limit the population of domestic cats. Cats and dogs were domesticated for a reason, they served a purpose, and earned their keep. and we need to be re-educated as to what that reason was, and why TNR is the better anc more effective way of dealing with the problem of overpopulation of domestic cats. |
