Introduction	hails from Gunung Tua-Muarasoro, Kotanopan – Mandailing Julu, where he was born on 13 March 1963. He obtained his bachelor degree in Ethnomusicology in 1995 from the University of North Sumatra (USU) in Medan, Indonesia. He is the author of Tulila: Muzik Bujukan Mandailing, a study of Mandailing courtship music, published in 2007 by Areca Books (www.arecabooks.com) Penang, Malaysia.
