IntroductionMy first book, The Spiritual Supermarket, was longlisted for the Vodafone Crossword Award, 2008. My first novel, Autobiography of a Mad Nation, was longlisted for MAN Asian Literary Prize in 2009. I write columns for the Guardian, UK, (www.commentisfree.com) and The New Indian Express (Sedition and Perdition). In my career of over 14 years since graduation in arts, I have been a journalist, technical writer, corporate communications and branding professional, technology and social entrepreneur, and corporate trainer, amongst my many avatars. But my core is being a writer and an orator. Been part of Communications and Branding at Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Indian School of Business (ISB), Satyam Computers, and was a journalist at The Indian Express and Deccan Chronicle. I have been writing since my early years. At the age of 11 years, I wrote my first book, a comprehensive analysis of India’s history under British rule, for a competition.

Favorite moviesLove Guru Dutt: Pyasa, Kagaz ke Phool; always felt religious about "Amitabh Bachchan", movies like Main Azaad Hoon, legendary stuff like Citizen Kane, 12 Angry Men, Sound of Music, King and I, some of Speilberg's stuff, tolerate some of the more contemporary madness from Nana Patekar, and historic recreations from Hollywood, and intellectually challenging works like Seven and Mementos; and stand alone pieces like My Left Foot, In the name of the Father, etc.
Favorite musicWestern Classic mostly, Hindustani and Classical Vocals and Instrumental at times.
Favorite booksThe Fountainhead (Ayn Rand complete works), Catch 22 (Joseph Heller), Catcher in the Rye (Morbid authors - Albert Camus' The Outsider, Kafka's Metamorphisis, Sidhartha and Steffenwolfe), all works of Fydor Dostovesky, Victor Hugo's Les Mesrables, and '93, and all others, Oscar Wilde - Dorian Gray and Others, Butler's Erewhon, 1984 and Animal Farm (writings of Orwell), chilhood favourites include J Swift, R L Stevenson, some works of Charles Dickens like Oliver Twist, Oldman & the Sea (all of Hemmingway), dramatics of Bill Shakespeare, No Exit (French writers like J P Satre), Short stories of O'Henry, Chekov, some of the Russian Writers, amongst the Indians, R K Narayan, Rushdie, VSN, Vikram Seth, Indra Sinha, non-fiction of Arundhati Roy, Arun Shourie, MJA, among others....
