| Introduction | THE INSTRUCTOR Jon's impressive sailing credentials reflect the fact that he has been sailing for the more than 35 years. Not only is Jon an accredited Australian Yachting Federation sailing instructor but he is also a certified Master Mariner class V (trading) and holds a MED3 ticket as well. Jon has custom designed , restored and built many ocean going cruising vessels including commercial charter and dive vessels. "Soundcraft Marine" Jon has sailed most parts of the east coast with much time enjoyed sailing a Chinese junk "Shaolin" to and from Low Isl far north Queensland and exploring the reef up to Lizard Is. Jon has local Knowledge of Sydney Harbour and was skippering during the 2000 fire works, the Olympics and the Sydney to Hobart start. Jon grew up on the Sydney water front racing Flying 10s and VJs until he started restoring timber motor yachts and cruising Sydney, Broken bay, Port Stephens, Foster, Port Macquarie. He has owned a number of boats, trailer sailers and catamarans. He also has a number of coastal yacht deliveries to his credit.
