| Introduction | I see life as a sequence of experiences to be embraced and not endured. I adore my family and feel blessed for what we have together. I spent my childhood and adolesence trying to be the best athlete I could. I spent my early adult life trying to be the best student I could. I've spent a career trying to be the best police officer I could. Now I focus on helping others with their journey; through parenting, teaching, coaching, mentoring, and friendship. I do look into the future, but only enough to be safe. I do not allow the past to be a road map; I never hold a grudge and I do not allow past failures to influence current desires. I live for blessing of today. I allow God, family and friends to guide my endeavors. I rarely back away from a challenge. One of my favorite athletes growing up once said, "tomorrow is promised to nobody..." (Walter Payton). |
