When you've got water stuck in your ear, how do you get it out?

There is a fine art to getting the water out of the ears, it includes simultaneously jumping up and down, violently shaking your with the watery-ear pointed down and pounding on the opposite side of the head as to force the water out, all of which in fact doesn't always work.
