| Introduction | I am a native of Dublin, Ireland and have lived in lots of different places including Paris, Washington D.C. and now in the burbs of Stockholm. I love Sweden, but not more than the auld sod (Ireland) and the notion of Paris in the spring will pull at my heartstrings until I am six feet under. I love my job as an editor, I love to write, I love telling stories. But most of all in this world I love my kid. He’s great, he gets me out of bed in the morning, literally sometimes, but he is the one that makes everything worthwhile, all the stress, the bad hair days, the insensitive commuters, the attitude of the checkout girl, and don’t get me started on the old ladies with a penchant for walking sideways. I’m a bit like my bike – a hybrid from the start with lots of accessories tacked on over the years as my life and needs have changed. But basically I’m a computer scientist turned journalist. There was a time when I thought that the whole techy thing wasn’t me, but then I realized that it is, I just needed to add in a bit of word spice to make it all fit together. Bridget Jones is my idol; she is undoubtedly the greatest anti-heroine ever... I frequently find myself wearing a carpet! |

Why does the color blue mean raspberry-flavored?
Because raspberries are in fact blue and not the generally-accepted red/pink color. Just another genetically modified element of the food chain - I may actually give up eating one day...
