IntroductionIt comes down to this. Is your definition of urban terror bed bugs in the hood or vultures in the crib? In our E4th Street quadrant we’ve side-stepped, so far, the city's bedbug epidemic. But in this town you can you dodge one bullet .... one low life infestation.... but there’s no immunity from the next. Remember Vulture Capitalism? It was a thing of free market beauty; customers, creditors and competitors got shafted equally. VC begot a love child with a slum landlord. They named it Vulture Realty. We’re VR’s hot zone. It’s a wild place of conflicting genetic strains; sort of like living a Judas Priest concert. The operative word is ‘strains’ here; managerial incompetence spliced with calculating malice. It’s never clear if today’s building mishap is randomized lunacy or applied terrorism. They're efficient at making people disappear without trace but then they lose the rent checks of the survivors. Unnerving, at best. Remember your worst acid trip at the Fillmore East? The one with huge, ugly birds of prey flapping their wings and showing a fang-like beak? Was it the Alice Cooper concert or was it just happening in your head? It’s beside the point. Make it go away
InterestsOh, bro, what can i say? Many and varied. Vintage vinyl, gals in tie dyed t-shirts and bell bottoms, erotic unisex massage, (in that order!), playing Assassin's Creed in 3D on my Macbook (i'm cool). But to tell you the truth life hasn't been quite the same for me since the Fillmore East closed. Used to love bumping those shows in and out for the legend, Bill Graham,.... Hendrix, Zappa, Janis....little Gracie Slick from Jefferson whatever it was that week.... what a babe!
Favorite moviesThe Doors, 1991.(director: Oliver Stone)
Favorite musicThink you're getting the picture.... but back in the day, if i was entertaining on the waterbed, even with the tie dyed sheets that could be a visually challenging in some altered states, i'd put Roberta Flack on. Windsong and Larkflight, always inseparable, would tear up and we'd have a group hug.
Favorite booksRage & Roll: Bill Graham and the Selling of Rock, 1993. (By John Glatt)
