| Introduction | The word "cosmopolis" has appeared in various contexts: a Brussels-based research centre, a book by the planner Leonie Sandercock, and also a novel by Don DeLillo. For me the idea of "Cosmopolis" conjures up a sense of urban worlds in a state of flux; of creative possibilities waiting to be discovered. |
