Introduction	My name is Diane and this is my online journal of life in two states. ~~ After living in South Central Texas for more than 30 years, my husband and I decided we were done with the long, unbearably hot Texas summers. So we bought a lot on a small, quiet lake in rural Southwest Michigan and built our retirement home. And we couldn't be happier. Along with our two rescue pups, we spend spring, summer and fall in our adopted state of Michigan, where my brother and much of Harry's family lives, and we return to Texas for the winter, where most of our blended family and all of our friends live. ~~ We have the best of both worlds. ~~ I love Texas. It's a beautiful state and it was our home for many years; but truthfully, I am most at home in Michigan. I love the cool nights and warm days, the lakes and woods, the changing of the seasons. I was raised in Southeastern Massachusetts and have to admit that I truly am a Northern girl at heart. ~~ This blog is an attempt to capture my journey of our life in two states. Since cooking and all things food are my passion, much of this blog will focus on that. If any of this interests you, come along for the ride.
