| Introduction | My career has spanned the worlds of education, publishing, corporate communications, and advertising. I have been published extensively and have won awards in business writing, advertising, and public relations. I have also taught business communications, writing skills, rhetoric, literature, and public speaking at the university level and have made presentations on many topics to professional trade groups. I am certified to teach English as a Second Language, with specialization in TOEFL preparation. EDUCATION: Master of Fine Arts in English from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Major: Fiction Writing. I studied with some of the finest American writers--John Cheever, John Irving, John Hawkes, Stephen Becker, Fred Exley, and many others. Bachelor of Arts in English from Pennsylvania State University. Major: English. Minors: Education and Philosophy. Certification in English As A Second Language from Oxford Seminars, at Villanova University. I also have earned an Honors-level specialization certification in TOEFL Preparation. |
