| Introduction | I have been teaching for 18 years and love it! I started in special ed (3,4,5 then K-5) in an inner city school. It was a wonderful learning experience, and I adored the children. Since then I've taught K, 1, 2, and have been a Literacy Specialist. I've been an educator in NY, NJ and Colorado. One of my favorite jobs was being a teacher to children with autism through Early Intervention in NY and NJ. I have been married 18 years to my husband, Tom, and we have two beautiful children, Emily, 13, and Nicholas,11. Tom and I suffered with infertility/miscarriage for 6 long years when Emily was born. Nick was born immediately after. At 13 months I realized he was "special" and he was diagnosed a few month later with autism. |
