Introduction	I have always been one of those people hiding in the background, admiring and longing everyone else's camera's and the amazing photo's they can produce. So in August 2010, I finally purchased my very own DSLR. I had made the decision the day I brought my camera, that spending this much money on purchasing a camera, there was NO WAY I would ever use the auto setting. And this is where my real passion for photography began. Armed with the tools, I was on a mission to learn how to use this beautiful piece of equipment. With some friends from work, we attended a full day hands on workshop in the City with a guy named Andy Piggot, whom ran us through everything we needed to know to get started. From there my fascination into this world of photography grew. And for this reason I find myself today, a student of the photography institute completing my diploma in photography. If I can pass on any advice to anyone else starting out, read your users manual of your camera over and over and never let that manual out of your site. Knowing everything your camera is capable of is just the beginning and don't be afraid to ask questions of another photographer's.
