Introduction	Greetings, I have been the librarian at Alvey Elementary since the school opened up in 2003. Prior to that I taught 1st grade at Signal Hill Elementary. I graduated college with a BA in Elementary Education/Sociology from SUNY Potsdam in NY, I received by Masters in Reading Education from SUNY Cortland and I have a Virginia State teaching license in Library Science from VCU. I love working in the library where I have the opportunity to help children "learn to love a great book". I am married with 2 small children at home. My daughter, will soon be turning 4 and my son, is almost 2 years old. I am very busy at home, but in my spare time I love to read children's books and young adult fiction as well as cook and spend time outside with my family.
