| Introduction | Based in San Diego California, Chinese Pirate Productions seeks to build partnerships, in order to better tell stories with artistic projects that speak to and for a community. Stories, myth and folklore are what bind communities together; from the oral histories of our ancestors, to the contemporary myths found in superhero epics, stories speak to the common values and universal truths upon which communities are built, and experiences are shared. -------------------------------------------------------- ANDY LOWE (Executive Producer/Director/Stage Adaptation) winner of the California Young Playwrights Contest in 1994, Andy co-founded the San Diego Asian American Repertory Theatre where he was the company's Producing Artistic Director for ten years ('95-'05)and over thirty-five full stage productions. He has been a recipient of an official mayoral commendation, and was recognized as one of the "Top 30 most influential Asian Americans Under the age of 30" (Political Circus Magazine '01). Andy currently works for the La Jolla Playhouse as the Theatre in Residence Program Coordinator. |
