| Introduction | Some of my art explores how man’s detritus has infiltrated nature, and vice-versa. Nature isn’t homogeneous or stagnant, but continually changes and reclaims man’s byproducts. In the process, nature herself is changed. Is this a new concept, or has nature always included bits of non-nature? **************************************** My work makes use of man-made materials, most often those that have been discarded by others. Whether it is leftover thread, fabric remnants, scrap paper, second-hand books, or found objects, I reconfigure the materials into “new” assemblages. Photographing these objects, and digitally manipulating the photographs, allows me to reconfigure them in yet another way. |
