Introduction Born in the UK, I grew up in North Vancouver and my Canadian schooling took place at St. Edmunds, Queensbury, Brooksbank, Sutherland and Argyle before completing my B.Ed. in History and English at UBC -- at the time the Arts faculty did not allow a double major, but Education did not check. I have travelled fairly extensively in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. I have taught in Burnaby and North Vancouver as a TOC then at Handsworth, Carson Graham, Seycove and Sutherland Secondaries I have taught English 8-12, Social Studies 8-11, Comparative Civilizations 12, Geography 12 and History 12. My school involvement has included coaching Track & Field and Rugby, refereeing Basketball, working on Sutherland's Scholarship Committee and School Planning Council, and sponsoring the 86% Club and Girls' Rugby Team. I retired at the end of the 2014 school year and am now a peripatetic pensioner.
