Introduction | Since I was a toddler I watched baseball with my dad, attending my first Yankee game at about 5 years old on glove day. My first real memory was when I was sitting next to my dad watching a Yankees day game. With the Yanks down in the ninth I told my dad that Darryl Strawberry was going to hit a game winning homerun and he blasted it over the fence. My next memory was not as great. It was in 1995 and I was in the 5th grade, doing homework on the floor and Alex Rodriguez scored to beat the Yanks in game 5 of the ALDS and I cried - it is funny looking back on it now. Little by little my love for the Yankees and the sport grew. Now, I live and breath the Yankees and baseball. Chills still go up my spine when I hear before every season that Baseball Tonight will be being aired on ESPN. Baseball is America's Pastime and there is nothing like the passion that runs through your veins every game and every day of each season as we put our heart and souls into almost as much as the players themselves. |
