Dear Aunt I thank you for the maple syrup dispenser. I’m sorry if I ever gave you any misgivings about my interest in roosters that prompted you to purchase a rooster-shaped object for me. I appreciate you went to the trouble of buying me a gift at all. I know you love me very much. I’m truely grateful. I'm sure I'll use it (though it may not be used to dispense maple syrup).
