| Introduction | I am a nurse, mom, wife, Maryknoll Lay Missioner, and former high school teacher. I was born and raised in a small, rural town along the Southern Oregon Coast. I earned my Masters degree in English Literature and Education before switching to healthcare. In 2009 I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with my BSN. My husband, 3 kids, and I have called the NW home for the past 12 years. We worked really hard and became debt free in 2020. That same year we stopped eating meat and became vegetarians. We decided to rent out our home and moved to Mwanza, Tanzania in 2023 to work for the next 3.5 years as Maryknoll Lay Missioners. I love the NW, the ocean, walking and hiking, animals, homeschooling my kids (the kids are currently attending an international school while in Africa), writing, staying in touch with family, searching for God (I'm a seeker), cooking and baking, growing plants, living simple ...
