| Introduction | Envy is a 'Swanson 38', a blue water cruising yacht designed and built by the then leading Australian production boat builders, Swanson Bros, and was launched at Palm Beach, Sydney, in March 1982. We purchased the yacht from her original owner at Southport in August 1999 and, during early 2000, had her professionally refurbished. Since then we have sailed 'Envy' more than 26,000 nautical miles (48,000 km) cruising the Queensland coast, P/NG's Louisiade Archipelago, across to New Zealand and into the near South Pacific, visiting Tonga, Samoa, Wallis and Futuna, Fiji, and New Caledonia. In 2006 we sailed up the Queensland coast and across 'the top' to Darwin joining 96 other yachts in the annual 'Sail Indonesia' and 'Sail Malaysia' rallies. We island hopped westward through all the Indonesian Archipelago and southern Borneo, then up the west coast of Malaysia, the Rally's end. Since December 2006 we have been cruising SE Asian waters, having explored Singapore, Malaysia, Western Thailand, (India's) Andaman Islands and across to northern Borneo. |
