| Introduction | For six months from the end of September I will be artist-in-residence at Albury Old Church in Surrey where I will be developing my sculptural work – I primarily work with glass but hope to extend the range of materials I use to enable me to make larger pieces. This mysterious Saxon church offers the opportunity draw on the vast, rich canvas of space, texture and narrative of ancient buildings. I will be visiting on a weekly basis...usually Wednesday, to test ideas, draw, take pictures and do research. The church, although not in regular use, has many visitors with which I hope to share this process of discovery. During the residency I will be running a few school workshops based there and an exhibition of my work is planned for mid March 2010. |
