| Introduction | I’ve always loved to escape into a good book. I don’t even mind a bad book now and then. I believe that you have to read a less-than-stellar book every now and then to make sure that you appreciate that great work by truly talented authors. I’m not a book snob. I’ll read anything from Shakespeare to Harlequin; from Self-Help to How-To. I can discuss the merits of a novel and participate in a book club, but more often than not, I read just for me; for my own personal entertainment. And so long as I’m escaping into a book for my own personal entertainment, I’d rather do it on a beach somewhere south of snow. As a Northern Girl I know I should be ashamed that I don’t have any warm fuzzy feelings about the snow, but really, what is there to feel warmly about? What I feel warmly about is listening to the sound of the surf while relaxing on a lounge chair with a book in one hand and a frosty beverage in the other. |

You've written a hit musical! How will you avoid having fame go to your head?
I will avoid developing a huge ego by spending time with my sisters. Sisters by blood, marriage and/or choice are God’s way of keeping you humble in your early years, sane in your middle age and company in your retirement. I’m grateful for all of my sisters.
