About me

Introduction Shannon Rose has been making sound art and music since the late 70s when she began exploring it as part of her video and performance art. She has played with several bands including Heavy Manners, ONO, Jack/Riley & Associates and was the founding member of Leatherettes. Her groups have opened for such acts as Ministry, Snakefinger, INXS, and Missing Persons. In 2008, Shannon began working again with Kallen Godsey and as a solo artist to reproduce new re-visions of some old Leatherettes and Jack/Riley songs and to develop new music--they even explored a cover or two, like Charismatic by Los Reactors and Warm Leatherette by the Normal. These can be heard on http://www.reverbnation.com/leatherettes/. Shannon Rose still plays with ONO when she is back in her home town of Chicago and as of 2010 is exploring a range of solo projects including experimental work as _bledwhite_. Shannon also continues to exhibit and perform internationally as a visual and performance artist. Shannon is Assistant Professor of Humanities and Coordinator of the Creative Arts Program at San Jose State University and publishes widely on art, performance, and culture.
