| Introduction | Equinox is a 36-foot strip-planked wooden ketch designed by L. Francis Herreshoff. We built it over the course of about 20 years and launched it in 2000. In 2005, we left our jobs to go cruising. We did that for awhile and are now back in St. Petersburg, FL, trying to have it all: family, financial security, hot water and a house for our impending geezerhoods. In 2011, we acquired a second boat, a 30-foot Catalina known as Running Free, in Seattle so we can be with grandson #3 in the summers. We are posting tales of the insanity here for anyone who cares. |
