| Introduction | Walter Davidson was born in Masset, BC, Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands). Main crest Eagle Clan. Nephew of renowned Haida artists Reg and Robert Davidson, and a descendant of the Edenshaw family. Carving since 1999 after he began a three-month mentorship with master carver Dwayne Simeon. During his time with Simeon, Walter began to practice the art of jewelry design & engraving. Walter is inspired by artists Bill Reid, Fred Davis, & Charles Edenshaw, & uncles Reg and Robert Davidson. In 2010, Walter was a featured artist at the 2010 Olympic Aboriginal Pavillion in Vancouver, exhibiting his jewelry at the Aboriginal Artisan Village and Business Showcase. haidaman2@hotmail.com |
