| Introduction | My husband and I are truck drivers looking toward retirement. Several years ago we purchased 20 acres in Oklahoma in hopes of living out the rest of our lives in peace and tranquility. At the time we had no idea what type of dwelling we wanted to live in, however, one day we came across shipping containers. We began to look at the tremendous possibilities of recycling these containers into a home. Our goal is to reduce the need for heating, air conditioning and protection against a possible tornado. While the area we chose is not directly along Tornado Alley, it is still a possible hazard to us. I have two beautiful daughters and two handsome stepsons. We share our property with my sister in law and brother in law, Teri and Ronnie. Without whom we'd never be along as far as we are with our project. They've been kind enough to take care of business, like getting the septic in for our tin can and collecting my multitude of incoming packages (no lie, the UPS man was complaining over the huge amount of them coming in daily). UPDATE: We are finally retired from the road! |
