| Introduction | Phil Cockayne is the founding partner of Marshes, a professional services firm that provides a wide range of business services including accountancy and bookkeeping. Phil has previosuly been a director of several companies which have variously provided software development, marketing and business support services. Phil originally joined the Liberal Party in the 1980s and continued as a member of the Liberal Democrats after the merger with the SDP. Graduating from Oxford Brookes University in 1997 after reading Economics and Business, became an Oxford City Councillor from 1999-2002, chairing a local area committee and vice-chairing the Housing Committee during that time. Disillusioned with party politics, Phil left the Liberal Democrats in 2008, after a membership of some 25 years. Whilst embracing the excitement of business and the development in his professional life, Phil considers himself a "progressive libertarian" and enjoys providing a unique yet authoritative commentary. |
