Introduction For those wondering about my unusual name, the story goes back to my school days where my classmates found the name Tyagarajan a bit daunting and decided to call me Tiger… it stuck on and isn’t a bad name to have in the corporate world! I have a degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. I began my career in sales & marketing for the Unilever Group and then moved to Citibank’s Consumer Financial Services businesses. In 1994 I joined GE Capital as Head of Risk in India and later the CEO of their Global Consumer Finance & Auto Financial Services. In 1999 I became the CEO of GE Capital International Services (GECIS), learning and contributing to the Business Process Management industry or Business Process Outsourcing as we called it back then. In 2002, I moved to the US as Global Head of Six Sigma & Global Operations for GE’s Global Commercial Lending businesses. 3 years later I joined GECIS (which had by then spun off as Genpact) leading sales & marketing. In 2009 I became COO and in June 2011, I became President & CEO.
