About me

Introduction St Exuperantius is one of those fun saints: probably never existed; inserted into someone's hagiography rather late; lost his head but kept walking. What more could a historian like me ask for? If you want to know about me, that's what you need to know. I'm a historian of Early Modern Europe. I lost my head several years ago, but I'm still walking. My dissertation is almost finished, and I teach full time at a public university in a dying state. This blog is about these final stages of writing, teaching under ridiculous circumstances, and whatever else is on my mind.
