Flangin', Swangin', and Sluddin'

Introduction	I've had a lifelong love affair with baseball. The game is as much a part of me as my right arm. As a player I had modest success in little league and high school and even played on hardball teams in Germany, Panama, and Texas as I traveled with the military. As my sons got older I traded in my spikes for a coach's hat. But this year, at the ripe old age of 48, I found a team in St. Louis that plays by the vintage rules of 1860. I decided to start this blog to document my journey in "re-learning" the game of baseball. The blog's title is taken from the vernacular of one of baseball's all-time characters, Dizzy Dean, who had his own way of speaking: Flanging (throwing), Swanging (swinging), and Sludding (sliding, but with purpose).
